3 Ways to Develop a Love for Learning

Being a lifelong learner has numerous benefits. It increases happiness, opens your world, and gives you the tools needed to be successful. Whichever subject you decide to learn about, this too, can be an area you excel in. Do you want to know more about communication? It’s easy to learn more about the topic; just search it online and start reading. Or, you can ask a trusted friend or expert for their best resources on communication. The key is developing a love for learning, and keeping an open mind that is able and willing to soak up new information.

Here are 3 ways to Increase Your Love for Learning:

1. Make it a habit. Good habits bring abundance and prosperity into our lives, and being a habitual learner is no exception. Make it a habit to learn something new every single day. Maybe it’s a 5-minute video on how something is made, or maybe you read just a few pages in a select book every day. When you make learning a habit, it becomes a consistent part of your life, and you start to see results. Results will help you LOVE the process, and you’ll be hooked!

2. Make a learning list. Learning is always more fun when we are interested in the subject. Make a list of what areas you are interested in, and want to learn more about. This will make your learning plan more personal to you. It will mean more, and the benefits will be relevant. You can keep this list for years to come and enjoy checking of a box or two every few months.

3. Decide which type of learner you are. Not everyone learns the same way. Some people are readers. Some of us prefer videos, or being at a live talk or demonstration. If you can adjust your learning plan to accommodate for your own personal learning style, then your time learning will be more effective. You will retain more and benefit more from it.

Learning is a process. Learning to love the process is a gift you can give to yourself for many benefits in the years to come. Who knows, maybe you will spark a new passion in your life, start a non-profit or find a new career. If nothing else, you are equipping yourself with the tools of everyday life, so that you can have a better life, and share your love of learning with those around you.
